Tables (or datasets) are the backbone of tukan's plataform.
In essence, tables store information from one or multiple public data sources, and allow you to access and export this data via customized queries.
It's important to note that each table's structure is unique, and dependent on the data it holds. However, all tables in tukan have at least the following attributes:
Indicators: the variables contained in the dataset.
References: the columns or categorical elements of the table. These can be numeric, categorical, and date objects.
Source: the entity in charge of publishing the data. In some cases, a table may have more than one source.
You can create customized queries or download the full dataset. Also, you can subscribe to each dataset to get notifications whenever there's an update.
We explain each of these actions in more detail elsewhere, but here's a quick rundown.
Queries: these let you customize what you want to export from a table. Plus, you can save them to your account for easy access later.
Download source-of-truth (SOT): this lets you download the whole dataset as a CSV file onto your computer.
Subscribe: this ensures you get an email whenever there's an update to the dataset.
